Daniel watched Darren. His stiff back, clenched fists — the way he held his mouth — all pointed to an explosion in the making. He had to do something to forestall this dunkirk and do it fast, but what? What could stop the impending fit?
Daniel stood up and kissed Darren, full on the lips. It felt pretty good, actually. The musician pulled back, a silly little smile on his face. He watched Darren closely to see if his ploy worked.
Darren was stunned. His mouth moved without a sound. Suddenly a smile brightened the Diva’s face and Daniel sighed. Crisis averted.
