Darren held Daniel very close, his back against his chest, as they stood near their bay window watching snow fall late at night. The ground was newly covered with a fine layer of tiny ice crystals, and from the glowing pink sky drifted more soft little flakes. They twisted in the air as they fell, catching the streetlights and twinkling. The normally dark night was completely illuminated in soft shades of shimmery silver.
Quite suddenly, Darren turned Daniel around, slid his arms to the slim waist, and caught his mouth in a kiss. Their lips slid across each other, soft and tender and sure. And when the need for air caught up with them, they didn't break away, but rather slowly stopped moving and even more slowly pulled back. Darren dipped his fingers in past the waistband of Daniel's boxers, cradling the small of his back. Daniel leaned back into his hands. Darren grinned and leaned forward, placing a quick peck on his lips. "Merry Christmas," he whispered.
Daniel smiled back, and the only thing that kept all the snow outside from melting was the double layer of protective glass called a 'window', keeping the snow safe from Daniel's sunny grin. Leaning forward once more, the two shared another deep kiss. They fell back into the bed without interrupting it. Bedsheets swished, the snow continued to whiten the world outside, and time stopped.
