I Know by Adelaide Morgan

Daniel,
This is going to be the hardest thing I've ever had to write, and it's not going to be easy for you to read either, so please bear with me.

I... I've been needing to tell you this for a long time, ever since I met you if I'm honest, yet I've never been able to find the words when you are around. I've planned how to tell you over and over and over and then...
Nothing.
Words fail me.

I'm fairly sure you'll hate me or something when you read this, which is why I'm not going to be anywhere near when you're reading... I don't know where I'll be, so please don't come looking for me.

Reading what I've written, I expect you're very confused and wondering what in the hell I'm talking about, so I guess I'd better spit it out.

I love you Daniel Jones, you're the most important thing in my life and I don't know how I can live without you by my side.

"What're you doing Darren?" Darren Hayes nearly jumped out of his seat as Daniel leaned over his shoulder, trying to look at what he was writing.

"N... Nothing, why?" Darren stammered, hands covering the letter he was composing.

"You writing a new song?"

"Something like that..." the singer evaded. Darren didn't like where this was headed.

"Let's have a look then." Daniel's hand moved to grab the piece of paper Darren was hiding. The bottom of the letter uncovered as Daniel moved his friend's hand, and he saw what was written there. Daniel raised an eyebrow, the corner of his mouth crooked up in a grin.

Darren eyes widened when he saw what was showing and he paled, knocking Daniel's hand away.

"It's not finished yet."

Daniel frowned. "Won't you even show me?"

Darren shook his head. "No. Sorry, I'd rather not. It's still very personal, I need to change it slightly"

"OK" Daniel stood up, and moved away as far as Darren was aware. He took a deep breath and continued writing his letter.

I'm so afraid that you're going to be disgusted with me, or... something I don't know what, but I do know that I don't want to lose your friendship, so if I've offended you, forget you ever read this.

"Don't worry Darren, I could never hate you!" Daniel whispered roughly into his friends ear, making Darren start.

He span around in his chair, mutely staring at Daniel. He swallowed a number of times, not able to say anything.

"I believe there's something you wanted to tell me?" Daniel's voice was predatory, masculine, infusing Darren's body with need.

"I..." Darren squeaked. He took a deep breath calming himself. He looked Daniel straight in the eyes. "I love you Daniel" "There, that wasn't too hard now, was it?" Before Darren could reply, Daniel leaned around locking his lips, kissing Darren as he had never been kissed before. Darren pulled Daniel in close, wrapping his arms around the guitarist.

They broke for air, and Daniel pulled himself onto the chair, straddling Darren's lap.

Darren reached around Daniel, picking up the note and ripping it to shreds. He cupped Daniel's face in his hands and peppered it with small kisses.

"I love you so much" he whispered, smiling.

Daniel leaned in for a kiss whispering, "I know".
