Sleep refused to grace Darren with its presence. Just one more week, he thought. One more week until his next scheduled vacation. One more week until he could see his cherished Daniel. One more week, and then he could spend fourteen days in his own personal paradise with Daniel.

Why do I do this to myself, he wondered. If he broke off his relationship with Daniel, he wouldn't have to go through the long months of pain, of sheer hell. Of lying there, wondering whether Daniel had changed his mind and no longer felt the same. Or perhaps he had found someone else. Perhaps he couldn't endure the distance either, and so had opted to end it without telling Darren. And found himself a lover in the same city, same country, same continent. Perhaps he was in someone else's arms right this very moment---but no. Daniel would never...right? Why do I do this to myself? Why? Darren sighed and closed his eyes. He would be reminded of the reason in just one more week.

He saw him the second his eyes adjusted to the airport's harsh lights. Daniel. Tall, tanned, slender, and as close to perfect as humanly possible. He ran forward.

"Darren!"

The second he heard his name spoken in pure adoration, he forgot all the pain he had suffered for months.

Daniel hugged him tightly.

The second he felt those lean arms go around him, he forgot all the questions, all the doubts he ever had.

He gently laid Daniel down onto the bed. Words were whispered softly, turning into little moans. His fingers played along the tanned skin, his body moving of its own accord. Daniel whimpered.
