To the Victor the Spoils by LunaFlower

'I still can't believe I let you talk me into this.' Darren grumbled as he finished signing the consent form and handed it back to the young girl behind the desk.

'Come on a bet's a bet, besides it was your idea to play for forfeits.' Daniel reminded him barely suppressing a smile.

'A nipple ring -- very sexy.' The girl commented unclipping the form from its board and adding it to the small pile on the desktop beside her. 'So what did you lose at?' She enquired.

'Snakes and ladders.' Came the miserable reply. Daniel laughed and led his band mate over to the seating area. There was nothing to do now except wait.

'You don't have to go through with this you know, I won't think any less of you if you chicken out.'

'No as you said a bet's a bet and anyways I'm kinda coming round to like the idea. Admit it aren't you just a little bit turned on by it?'

//A little bit!// Thought Dan. //Wake up Darren why do you think I suggested it in the first place?//

'Yeah I guess so.' He replied nonchalantly as he dug in his jacket pocket for his cigarettes and lit one up. Blowing out a thin stream of smoke he looked around him.

He figured there were two or three people to go in before them, plenty of time for Darren to have second thoughts if need be but he secretly hoped not.

It had all started out innocently enough. It was another boring, wet, afternoon so he had decided to go over to Darren's only to find him as bored as he was. Neither of them had felt much like jamming, so after channel surfing for a fruitless half hour, snakes and ladders it had ended up being. In a desperate attempt to liven things up Darren had suggested that they played for forfeits, the winner got to choose. At first it was simple silly things like walking round the room on their hands and singing nursery rhymes backwards but as they had steadily worked their way through the contents of the drink cupboard the dares got more outrageous until Daniel had finally seized the chance to suggest something that he had been thinking about for a while. True to form Darren had lost the next game, for some reason he never was any good at board games and Daniel had to admit that he had cheated a bit moving his pawn on an extra square when he thought the singer wasn't looking. Still he was surprised that Daz had accepted his fate so calmly. He had very definite feelings when it came to his nipples and Daniel knew first hand just how sensitive they could be.

'You're up.' Daniel became aware that the girl's voice was aimed at them. He felt Darrens hand slip into his and pull him to his feet. 'Let's get this over with.' His friend said grimly and the guitarist could see that his face had gone a shade paler than it was even normally.

'Are you sure you want to do this?' He asked once more.

With more confidence than he felt Darren nodded back and lead the way into the piercing room.

'Okay, just take off your shirt and lay back on the couch.' The guy who was to perform the piercing was a well-built guy in his late thirties who looked like he could have easily been a roadie in a previous life.

//Keep calm.// Darren told himself //There is nothing to it, this guy's probably done hundreds of these.//

The ex-roadie was putting on a pair of surgical gloves and removing a needle from its sterile wrapping.

'Just relax,' he told him.

Darren forced a weak smile and tightened his grip on Daniel's hand.

Putting a steadying hand on his chest the piercer reached out and with the other gently took Darrens nipple between his thumb and forefinger.

'Whoa.' The singer inhaled sharply.

'Sensitive are we?'

'Like you wouldn't imagine mate.' Darren informed him with a gasp and he felt Daniel's fingers wriggle from his grip to caress his wrist. He turned his head and shot the guitarist a wicked sideways look. The look in the younger man's eyes said it all.

The exchange didn't go unnoticed. 'Well in that case I'm sure the ring will only serve to heighten the experience.' The piercer informed them, and winked at Daniel, who prompted blushed and dropped his eyes to the floor.

Resuming his work the guy shook a small metal can and sprayed something cold onto Darren's sensitive area numbing it completely. Then he carefully inserted the needle across the base of the nub. Daniel and Darren watched fascinated. Darren surprised that he didn't feel more pain, Daniel beginning to fantasise about how his partner would react when he grasped the ring with his teeth during a particular rough session of foreplay. He couldn't wait for it to heal so he could find out.

The needle was removed and replaced with a lubed silver hoop. Darren winced slightly.

'OK -- you're all done.'

The singer peered down at his chest at the new appendage. 'Cool. What'd you think Jonesy?'

'Oh yeah.' Daniel was beginning to get seriously turned on.

'Keep it covered for the first day.' The piercer instructed as he lay a piece of treated lint over the wound affixing it to Darren's chest with nursing tape. 'Then remember to bathe it in salt water and carefully turn it twice a day.'

He let the dark-haired man sit up and gingerly Darren put his shirt back on trying his hardest not to let the fabric touch the dressing. 'Come on you,' Darren directed at Daniel. 'You owe me one seriously stiff drink.' Dan just grinned, after watching Darren go through that he was willing to give him anything.

'Oh and boys,' the roadie-looking guy cautioned them as they reached for the door handle, 'it takes eight weeks to heal properly so until then please play nicely.'

Epilogue

Three weeks later they were back. Surprisingly the young girl recognised them.

'So what is it to be today?' She asked as Daniel pushed the form back across the desk to her. 'An eyebrow ring -- cool.'

'Hmmmp.' Was Dan's response.

'What happened?' She enquired struggling to keep the laughter from her voice.

'We had a re-match.' Darren explained.

'Yeah -- except this time I lost.' Daniel interjected testily.

'And what were you playing? Snakes and ladders again?'

'No,' Daniel answered shooting Darren a filthy look. 'Ludo.'
